Is the name you want still available?
Small businesses usually have small web site requirements. And, if you are like me, you want a place where you can make small changes yourself without having to pay $$ for every little change. I can set up a site for you that you can change yourself, or I can do the whole shebang.
If you simply want to get started, then I can get you up right away with a minimal site at minimal cost and put you into a few of the major search engines.
If you want to set up a site that you will do most of the maintainence yourself, I'll want to use FrontPage for you. It's not the perfect solution, but it works well enough and is easy enough to learn.
If you want to go into a store front and sell items through the Web, then we have multiple paths we can take to get there. The coinart.com site is one such site -- credit cards are accepted, but not for on-line processing -- all business will be done by email or phone. This is by far the cheapest way to get started. In the coinart case, the owner had an existing database and pictures. I wrote a small program that turned the database and picutres into a web site and published it.
If you are ready for on-line purchasing, accepting credit cards and having them charged directly to you bank account from the Web site, then we are talking about considerably more upfront costs -- not only in setting up the site, but also in making arrangements with your bank and the credit card processors, such as Verisign. I can also provide custom graphics or music for your site.
I do not own any servers. I rent space on servers located in a high speed facility near a major Internet connection point. My expertise is databases, programming and and site design.
This chart illustrates the kinds of pricing I charge, though nearly anything can be negotiated.
